approach
shaping the environment, which shapes us.™
Petroff Architecture is a Melbourne‑based architectural practice working across residential, commercial, and public projects. The practice approaches architecture as a responsive act, shaped by site, context, and the people who occupy and use buildings over time.
Projects are developed through careful attention to site conditions, climate, scale, and patterns of use, allowing architecture to respond clearly to its surroundings and to the needs of its clients. Across all work, there is an emphasis on functional planning, clarity of structure, and architecture that is grounded in its context.
Petroff Architecture works closely with clients throughout the design process, with projects shaped through personable dialogue and a shared understanding of how buildings will be lived in, used, and experienced.
A strong understanding of construction, materials, and detailing informs the practice’s architectural work, supporting design decisions that are resolved clearly from early design through to built form. This knowledge allows architectural ideas to be carried consistently through structure, envelope, and interior spaces.
Interior architecture is treated as integral to the overall design. Consideration is given to human scale, proportion, materiality, and spatial experience from the outset, recognising that architecture is most directly encountered from within.
